Nurses work every day with patients who require different and complex needs. Needless to say, they should have a caring attitude. Filipino nurses are globally recognized for providing much TLC (tender loving care).
Being a nurse, I can say that an open, understanding and friendly approach to patients and their family fosters a strong rapport that is beneficial for giving effective and efficient nursing care. For the most part, we try to give as much time as we possibly can devote to our patients. However, there are times when we have to budget our time. One instance is this: when a patient is undergoing radiation therapy.
Oncology nurses are regularly and repetitively exposed to dangerous substances such as chemotherapeutic drugs; because of this, these nurses must follow general rules in administering nursing care.
