The Steelers delivered the knockout blow with less than two minutes remaining in the game and defeated the Arizona Cardinals 27-23. While it may not have been the greatest Superbowl ever played, it was literally one for the record books. According to Elias Sports Bureau, there were twelve records broken and three others that tied records.

Game Records

1) The two teams combined for the least rushing yards, 91, in Superbowl history. The Steelers mustered only 58 while the Cardinals delivered a paltry 33.

2) The two teams combined for only 38 rushing attempts, the lowest in history.

3) There were only six rushing first down, also the lowest in title game history.
