The public usually goes about their business and personal lives in a very automatic fashion. Little thought is ever given to the integrity of money when it is exchanged. It is estimated that 1/100 of 1% of US currency is counterfeit. The Secret Service is delegated with investigating all counterfeiting cases. It only takes one time at the bank when a teller confiscates a suspected counterfeit bill that the feeling of being duped occurs. The teller doesn’t give you a fresh, real bill, either. You are just out of the money. Too bad! There are many security features built into the money being produced.
